Michelle's Lanvin Sneakers  



Apparently, some people have taken issue with Michelle Obama's high-end style. While volunteering at thee Capitol Area Food Bank for Feeding America, she was sighted wearing a pair of $540 Lanvin sneakers. Stylelist.com wants you to vote on whether or not the pricey footwear was inappropriate for the occasion. Needless to say, I think they should back off of her.

Let me just say I LOVE your blog! I caught the tail end of this story on the radio and I knew just where to go to take a look at her kicks. Seriously, people need to get over it. She has an amazing balance in terms of her wardrobe consisting of high end designers and moderately priced brands. If girlfriend wants to look fierce while doing some good in the community, then go for it! The story was the fact that the First Lady is active and hands on in the community, not her kicks.

Thanks Tiff, I'm glad you are enjoying my posts! I agree with you - I love that she mixes high-end w/low-end.

I don't see what the problem is. I think the secret is out - that she IS wealthy so why must she be ridiculed for looking like it? I think its pretty condescending to dress down while working FOR the less fortunate just because you're working WITH the less fortunate. I mean, its not like she showed up dripping in diamnonds!!!

Oh and BTW, not to sound un-PC, but to state the obvious - I don't think that the people receiving food at the Food Bank were aware or would even care that she was wearing $540 Lanvin sneakers...so why does anyone else??/
