Best Dressed: Beyonce or Lindsay

Both Beyonce and Lindsay Lohan have recently seen wearing these Balmain Biker Jeans. Beyonce wore them in Paris earlier in May at the Grand Palais in Paris, while Lindsay wore hers last weekend while running errands. As you can see, this battle comes down to a matter of overdone vs. underdone.

Honestly, I wanted to give it to Lindsay because it takes a true diva to wear such expensive pieces on errand day, and because I think that these jeans are detailed enough to carry an outfit on their own (Beyonce has a LOT going on with the draping, clear/silver platforms, and the crystal belt). BUT Lindsay blew it with those shoes so I have to give it to Bey.

Trend Alert: The Military (Michael Jackson) Jacket

The Michael Jackson-esque military jacket has been seen all over, so while spring is still here, get yours and rock it now if you like to be trendy. Because come this fall and next spring, every designer and retailer may offer their own version and the trend could officially be played out.

Beyonce wore an $11,000 version by Balmain on a dinner date in NYC with her hubby, Jay-Z last week.

Then, Rihanna wore her Balmain in a day-timey ensemble a couple of days afterwards.

You can always opt to wear a more traditional (and affordable) version of the cadet-style jacet like supermodel, Enkiko Mihalik.

Of course, fashionisto Kanye West has one too.

The matchy-matchy group, Coldplay donned theirs at the Grammy awards in an array of colors. I think 1-2 of the members wearing the jacket would've sufficed though...IMHO.

$1000 Jeans?!

How much is TOO much for a pair of jeans???

In an earlier blog, I discussed why you should consider paying $200 for a pair of premium denim (http://jeanotype.blogspot.com/2008/06/those-jeans-cost-how-much.html), but I'm finding it difficult to justify Christophe Decarin's Balmain denim line. These jeans run up to $2500 (see above picture of their new ripped style) and are SOLD OUT, yes SOLD OUT in London and in online boutiques! Who said anything about a recession?!

And of course, denim trendsetter, Kate Moss has hers:

What is the most you would pay for denim? And, what would justify spending outside of that price range?
