Here are the denim sightings this week:

Serena Williams was out shopping this week (for some more jeans thank God). Not a fan of these Diesel jeans she's wearing, but in her defense, I know it is very difficult to find clothing period that fits and flatters her curvy frame.



Rihanna had on a casual outfit for....babysitting???


Kate Bosworth was wearing a pair of really wide leg jeans. I typically like wide-leg denim, but not these. They just look sloppy. You can go for a non-fitted style, yet still have a clean tailored look.


Beyonce was out in London with her usual outfit of Balmain and ripped denim.


Newly split couple, Kanye West and Amber Rose were out in NoHo's American Apparel shopping for hoodies and sunglasses. Supposedly, he even borrowed a pair of scissors to cut off the sleeves for her on the spot. Fashion and chivalry...awww!!! Her jeans are cute too.

Complex magazine conducted a poll titled Style War, to determine the best dressed rapper of 64 nominated (I can't even think of 5 whose styles are worth voting for). It came down to Kanye West and Jay-Z, and of course the winner was...KANYE! You can't really compare their style though. It would've been much more fun to compare two fashion-forward candidates such as Kanye and Andre 3000, but the public did the voting so apparently it was just a popularity contest although Kanye's controversial fashion won out. The Michael Jackson-esque military jacket has been seen all over, so while spring is still here, get yours and rock it now if you like to be trendy. Because come this fall and next spring, every designer and retailer may offer their own version and the trend could officially be played out.

Beyonce wore an $11,000 version by Balmain on a dinner date in NYC with her hubby, Jay-Z last week.


Then, Rihanna wore her Balmain in a day-timey ensemble a couple of days afterwards.


You can always opt to wear a more traditional (and affordable) version of the cadet-style jacet like supermodel, Enkiko Mihalik.


Of course, fashionisto Kanye West has one too.


The matchy-matchy group, Coldplay donned theirs at the Grammy awards in an array of colors. I think 1-2 of the members wearing the jacket would've sufficed though...IMHO.

...shoes apparently. Here is Kanye's new ad for his Louis Vuitton sneakers featuring his naked girl, Amber Rose. Almost missed the shoes...

Solange performed at the SXSW Music Festival in Austin Texas weekend along with Kanye West and some others, and while I appreciate that her style is different and outside of the box, its getting a little....bizarre. I usually really like Solange's looks, but this is just too much. I have to wonder...is this just her effortless "style" or is she trying too hard? Now, the above look is fine - classic Solange. But the looks below??? Banana pants???



These look like those items that you run across in a novelty store that are fillers amongst the good finds. You know, the items that you pick up to mock with your friends and reminds you that not everyone has good taste? Put them back down Solange! Down!

And no, there are no pics of Kanye "Double Denim" West. I refuse to post them. If you insist on seeing what he looked like, visit the previous post and picture the jacket w/o sleeves (at least he is keeping it trendy with a vest):

Please see Fashionising.com's take on this awful double denim "trend" that has been lurking around. They beat me to the punch. I've noticed this too, and I believe this is a trend that should NEVER resurface. I do, however, know some people who would be thrilled to dust off their "denim fits" and hit the town though...so let's shut this down before they hear about it.
