2009 Costume Institute Gala Benefit

Actors, artists, and fashion industry people were dressed to impress at the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute gala on Monday for “The Model As Muse” exhibit.

Quite naturally, there were some that impressed, and some that depressed...

Here are looks I really liked:

Here is Eva Herzigova in Dolce & Gabbana and Chopart...loving those shoes!

Kate Moss looked very elegant in and with Marc Jacobs *doing my back exercises as I type*:

Kate Beckinsale looked very elegant as well. I love LOVE navy!

Iman NEVER disappoints:

Claudia Schiffer looked bad...in a good way. I do wish she would've done something more with her hair though:

Gisele Bundchen wore a cute sassy number:

Heidi Klum (who's on baby #4) looked absolutely radiant! Nobody wears pregnancy and post-pregnancy like Heidi!:

Of course, Victoria Beckham was there stylin' and profilin':

And my favorite look was Lily Donaldson. Her dress and shoes were ON POINT!:

And then, there are the looks, I didn't like at all:

Kirsten Dunst looked like an ol' lady:

I didn't like it when Beyonce did this sculpted dress, so I certainly don't feel Emma Roberts in it:

Mary-Kate and Ashley looked identically whack:

Leighton Meister...WTF were you thinking?!

And Madonna...ok, so when we say that some celebs can get away with "anything," we don't mean anything:

Then we had what looked like a casting call for a Bram Stoker film:

And here are some randoms that I wanted to throw in:

My girl, Diane Kruger in Chanel Haute Couture:

Ciara in Emilio Pucci...I'm sure she's wearing some thigh-high boots under that gown:

Amber and Kanye are still hanging in there. She looks great...somebody got a tan, but um, Kanye? Where are your socks?

Runway to Red Carpet

Not all of us are made like supermodels, but these celebs show that that can be a very good thing. Check out the supermodels being beat at their own game:

Sienna Miller in ShoWest:

Joy Bryant in Zac Posen. Now, Chanel Iman looks good too, but I think its the rich glow of Joy Bryant's skin that makes the dress pop, whereas Chanel's complexion blends in with the dress a little too much:

Evan Rachel Wood in an Elie Saab gown...I think its because you don't see her bones protruding from her body AND she gives it some shape.

I think Diane Kruger could rock pretty much anything. She's in Roberto Cavalli (above) and Marchesa (below)...I'm going to keep an eye on her - she is F-A-B:

Angelina Jolie in Armani Prive. Either its the fact that she fills the dress out more or she's wearing it slightly different, but you can see the detail of the dress much better on her:
