Week and Weekend in Denim

Sorry for the huge gap in post, but I was whisked away on a last minute vacay to Cancun for my birthday *feeling really special right now*. So, here's what I've missed:

Blake Lively wore a cute pair of dark denim jeans during Fashion's Night Out.

Rihanna, her cutoffs, and her nips made an appearance in NYC. I just don't get where she's going with this ensemble.

Amber Rose also wore a weird cutoff ensemble for her Elle photoshoot. And BTW, she was styled by Kanye himself. Nope, I don't like it either...

Megan Fox out shopping in Toronto.

Jessica Alba wore her bleached jeans. I think she should've either worn the top or the jacket, but definitely not both of them together.

Nicky Hilton had on an interesting stone-washed denim dress. I don't like it, but I think that she still looks cute.

Weekend in Denim

Halle took a break from her favorite denim look (boyfriend jeans) and opted for a great-fitting pair of straight legs. She always looks so effortlessly fab!

Vanessa Simmons, showing that she's no stranger to bold colors, wore some red jeans and sneakers to a Pastry promo event.

Nicky Hilton wore the trendy blazer and denim cutoff look to lunch with her sister, Paris. Sometimes the heel and cutoff look looks a tad bit too risque, but these booties work.

Ashanti... *searching for a positive comment*...her makeup and pedi look nice???

Melanie Fiona here in Chicago at the Heineken Soul event. SO mad that I was feeling under the weather and missed this concert! These jeans are interesting. The ripped "look," but no rips...

Eva Marcille in D.C.

Mary J. Blige wearing her boyfriend jeans in SoHo. This is a cute and laid back look for Mary.

Best Dressed: Paris or Nicky

Sisters, Paris and Nicky Hilton face off in their Black Orchid Black Jewel Skinny Jeans in Galactic. Paris wore hers casually with a vintage tee and matching Louboutins, and Nicky dressed hers up with a cute leather jacket...but who rocked these jeans the best?

I'm kinda on the fence on this one because I like both looks. If Nicky would've brought in a pop of color with a different shoe choice, she would've been the obvious choice for me.

Singer 22 carries these for $109...not bad.

The Ripped Denim Trend Continues...

I didn't pay this trend too much attention last spring and summer because there are always a few people who rock ripped denim despite its current trendworthiness. However, I can't ignore what is. So whether you choose to create your own or buy some pre-made (main photo is Siwy's Hannah Cropped Slim Jean, $196), there are plenty of options out there. Plus, the varying levels of distressing assure that both the fashion-forward and mildly conservative have comfortable options (although I don't think any woman who would consider wearing this trend would ever really be considered "conservative").
