Actors, artists, and fashion industry people were dressed to impress at the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute gala on Monday for “The Model As Muse” exhibit.

Quite naturally, there were some that impressed, and some that depressed...

Here are looks I really liked:

Here is Eva Herzigova in Dolce & Gabbana and Chopart...loving those shoes!


Kate Moss looked very elegant in and with Marc Jacobs *doing my back exercises as I type*:


Kate Beckinsale looked very elegant as well. I love LOVE navy!


Iman NEVER disappoints:


Claudia Schiffer looked bad...in a good way. I do wish she would've done something more with her hair though:


Gisele Bundchen wore a cute sassy number:


Heidi Klum (who's on baby #4) looked absolutely radiant! Nobody wears pregnancy and post-pregnancy like Heidi!:


Of course, Victoria Beckham was there stylin' and profilin':


And my favorite look was Lily Donaldson. Her dress and shoes were ON POINT!:


And then, there are the looks, I didn't like at all:

Kirsten Dunst looked like an ol' lady:


I didn't like it when Beyonce did this sculpted dress, so I certainly don't feel Emma Roberts in it:

I was talking to a close friend and fashion stylist who commented on Ciara's recent and frequent abuse wearing of these thigh-high boots...in the Spring! Now I knew I wasn't really feeling her look (especially the oxymoronic thigh-high flat version), but he brings up an excellent point.


I believed that her having worn the mess of them lately meant that she was just trying to get her wear out of them before May (the official start of warm weather everywhere), but lo and behold, she wore them on Good Morning America yesterday!

How many colors of this boot does she have?! Is the boot, jean, tee, short jacket, and ponytail her new uniform? Does she believe that being a trendsetter means beating the public over the head with it? And most importantly, who's with me on the crusade to stop her???

Stella McCartney's 23-piece exclusive collection for Net-a-Porter goes on sale today worldwide. The collection includes a limited edition print by artist Peter Blake, and the varied collection (apparel, accessores, and shoes) ranges from a $45 thong to a $7,695 dress...ouch!

There are two pairs of jeans, the cutest being these gradient ankle zip skinny jeans priced at $355.

In a discussion Sunday at The New York Times’ headquarters with fashion critic Cathy Horyn, designers Maria Cornejo, Thakoon Panichgul and Narciso Rodriguez weighed in on the diversity of Michelle Obama's style. They praised her for being modern in her tastes, high end -low end mixes, bold color choices, non-traditional sleeveless dresses, and other stylish touches will little regard to established fashion houses.

They also were in total support of her wearing her $540 Lanvin sneakers while volunteering at the food bank last week. “She has done a pretty good job of being quite democratic, much more than anyone else ever has. This is a 45-year-old career woman who has earned her own money. If she wants to blow it on clothes, why not?” Cornejo said.

I think I just acquired 3 favorite designers :-)

I am SO uninspired by the denim looks served to us by the celebs this weekend. They just looked pretty wack (and normal) as a whole:

Ciara is in her new fave denim trend - gray jeans AND thigh-high boots...I'm soooo not feeling this and wish that she would stop with the boots.

Then, she participated in Revlon's 12th Annual Walk For Women in New York:


Ah, that's more like it!


Hmm, not really feeling Rih's choice of outfit to wear to Katsuya for dinner w/Jay-Z. The boyfriend jeans with the tank and secretary pumps??? Uh uh.


Khloe Kardashian definitely let her sister upstage her. To stick those jeans in those boots like that did nothing for her...or Giuseppe.


Halle gave a glimmer of hope as she was cute and casual as usual wearing a well-fitted pair. Now how is it that she always manages to look good whether she is being styled on the red carpet or if she's just running to the grocery store, and she now has to be responsible for dressing Nahla too? She is living proof that we can do better.


Surprisingly, Beyonce of all people gave us the most umph...maybe she's inspired by being in Prague..


And before anybody thinks poorly of me because I'm being hard on them and "celebrities are just like you and me," let me just tell you - they are NOT like you and me so don't go there. Unless you have designers sending you their latest and greatest fashions for free to boot, have access to a top stylist, and/or get paid on your image, they really aren't like you...at all.

Complex magazine conducted a poll titled Style War, to determine the best dressed rapper of 64 nominated (I can't even think of 5 whose styles are worth voting for). It came down to Kanye West and Jay-Z, and of course the winner was...KANYE! You can't really compare their style though. It would've been much more fun to compare two fashion-forward candidates such as Kanye and Andre 3000, but the public did the voting so apparently it was just a popularity contest although Kanye's controversial fashion won out.
