Week in Denim

For once in a long time, Lindsay Lohan opted for a loose-fitting look. Cute jeans too!

Rihanna arrived at Milk studios in NYC. This is one of those once-in-a-blue-moon times that I don't like anything about her look. The hair, the outfit, and the boots don't do anything for me...or her.

I am really feeling Audrina's look. Its a very simple outfit of a tee, ripped jeans, and booties, but this just comes to show that a good fit  alone can make an outfit work.

Who says that white jeans are just for summer?! I don't believe in locking up your white clothing all fall and winter long, but you should at least mix them with seasonal trends...that means lose the white tee and flip-flops Heidi.

Blake Lively was seen on the set of Gossip Girl wearing some great jeggings:

Beyonce arrived in South Korea to perform. This is a fun look for her. I don't love it, but its fun.

So I'm not liking this preppy/rock look that Katie Holmes put together. Its very possible to effectively and fashionably mix trends, but there is nothing here to tie them together.

Ah, Victoria Beckham comes to the rescue to prove my point! THIS is how you mix two looks without looking like you just threw something on! The formal tuxedo jacket with the rocker cords looks fab!

Ashley Tisdale was seen wearing the cutest Siwy wash. I'm thinking I may have to get these...

Week in Denim

Penelope Cruz was seen at LAX in a great fitting pair of Citizens of Humanity jeans...until you get to that turned up hem. A tailor can be your best friend - if you let him.

Rihanna in NYC. Hate the boots.

Queen Latifah in a pair of straight legs proving that plus-sized women SHOULD wear fitted (not tight) jeans to flatter their curves too!

Kelly Rowland rocked some leopard print flats with her white jeans to the car, but changed into heeled sandals for her destination.

Kelly Rowland again out in London wearing her boyfriend jeans.

*overlooking the double denim* Wow, its been a long time since we've seen some bootcut, but it looks good.

Here's Heidi Montag in her jeans...and house slippers. I don't get it...

The great thing about denim that buttons or zips at the bottom hem is that they provide great versatility for heels or flats without having them drag on the ground.

This Week in Denim

It wasn't a real exciting week in denim, but here's the wrapup:

Happy Birthday Naomi! Although she had looked fabulous (pre-intoxication), she ended up drunk in the back seat with her denim jacket on:

Obviously Taylor Momsen loves the ripped denim look. Here she is in her Members Only jeans...yep, they make more than nylon jackets now:

Here's Lindsay Lohan in what seems to be her favorite brand as of late - PRVCY. Cute wash!

Kim Kardashian looks laid back and casual. The bright pop of color makes me want to look over the fact that she's wearing knee boots in late May. She has been hanging out around Ciara a lot lately...damn!

Here's Heidi Montag in her fave Jet Thrasher jeans. She wears them all of the time. So yes, I could've picked a better photo of her wearing these jeans, but I chose this one instead. hehehe

Elle Macpherson was seen out shopping in her J Brand jeans. When a supermodel has to roll up her hem, this indicates that the designers are going way too far with these superlong inseams!

She may not be a victim of wearing "mom jeans," but what's up with that mom shirt???

Beyonce was out lunching with her hubby in Barcelona. I like the outfit, but I do think that those shoes are a little too much for daytime casual.

*deep sigh* Oh Pauletta! I hope I don't end up looking like my husband's mother...

Eh, I have nothing special to say about a look that isn't. Sorry Kate.

Okay, so is it just me or does LaToya Jackson look like she has shoplifted items hidden in that pocketbook that she's clutching to for dear life???...

Keyshia Cole got a new man and a new attitude. She's wearing a colored 80's inspired wash...not bad.

And my favorite look is...Kelly Rowland! Everything about this look is on point. She looks cute and polished.

Have a great Memorial Day weekend guys!

Running for The Hills

MTV's reality show The Hills, that followed Laguna Beach star Lauren Conrad to Los Angeles in her pursuit of a fashion education and career, has opened doors for her as well as her costars.

Herself, Heidi Montag, Whitney Port, and now Audrina Patridge have all used their fame to launch their own collections. While they are all of a different style, they have one thing in common - they are underwhelming at best.

LAUREN

Lauren's line, the Lauren Conrad Collection, has simple silhouettes which make great basics, but require severe accessorizing to create a "fashionable" look. In her defense though, she is from SoCal and the looks are inspired by their laid-back style. Here are 3 of her more eye-catching styles from the 2009 Fall/Winter collection:

HEIDI

Move along folks, there's nothing here to see...
LOL no, but seriously, Anchor Blue has reportedly dropped Heidi Montag’s fashion line, Heidiwood, in an effort to focus almost exclusively on denim. That's not a bad idea if you ask me. Jeans rock!
Though just in case you were curious, here are some images from her online lookbook that we could've looked forward to seeing in her would've been fashion line:

WHITNEY
Whitney Port's line, Whitney Eve, has um, interesting looks that I can definitely see her in. The line got picked up by Kitson and this particular dress retails for $345. I say no way, but to each her own.

AUDRINA

Audrina Patridge, who will probably have the least success of the four women, although she has the most attractive line AND its denim (take notes Heidi) has signed a deal with denim line, Divine Rights of Denim. She is not only the face of the brand, but she also co-designed their latest line. It is definitely a budget-friendly brand - most are priced below $100. I wonder if Justin Bobby is the hairstylist for her ads...

I'm not one of those people who unconditionally love to root for the underdog, but I've got to go with Audrina on this one. I think the jeans are really cute AND they are under $100?! I'm ALL over these!
