Year of the Jumper

The next best thing about Spring (the first is a break from the winter cold, of course) is shedding the heavy winter layers for light and simple options. And what can be more simple that a jumper?! You can dress them up or down taking them from day to night w/a simple shoe and accessory change.

Jumpsuits were seen all over the runways for Spring '09, and trust me there are all types of options. Personally, I have always loved jumpers. My friends playfully teased me last year for the frantic jumper-shopping frenzy I drug them on. I could not buy enough, and trust me, my hard work has paid off. I have casual cotton jumpers, silk jumpers, short jumpers, dress jumpers...I have an entire week's worth of jumpers! Although I am disappointed that I'll now have some jumper-clad competition, this trend just assures that they will be much easier to find this year.

Joy Bryant was seen at NY Fashion Week in this silver Missoni Spring ‘09 strapless jumper w/gold waistband:

And just to show how you can go from high-low, here is a low, mid, and high-price ranged jumper for all budgets:

Forever 21 $22.80

BCBG $238.00

Diane von Furstenberg $345.00

The great thing about jumpers is that they are good for many body types. There are fitted ones, but looser flowy ones as well. Just pair w/a waist-accentuating belt and you are good to go. If your toned legs are your best feature, a short jumper is a MUST!
